Edward In Venice – Muori review

Edward In Venice’s debut full length album, Muori is a fierce, raging and brutal monster being unleashed to the world. Their hardcore punk takes aspects of many different bands from the genre – ranging from Bring Me The Horizon to bands like Every Time I Die. Edward In Venice are certainly Italy’s finest when creating their heavy as fuck sound.

Opening with the quick fire, fast paced The Deads Comes From The Graves, it’s evident that Edward In Venice know how to tear shit up and tear shit up they do! Followed by the absolute rager of Crocodile Tears with it’s hardcore riffs that hit harder than Ike Turner, Edward In Venice prove themselves very early on and by the time that more melodic Tunana (Elbow) rolls in to town they could easily sit back and relax. But they don’t. Instead of letting down their guard, they step up their game and make even more epic noise with Perfect Mating before Mr. Huges Know It gives a short, almost Bizkit style interlude.

The interlude isn’t really needed, but it does give a chance to get your breath back before you get back up and start flailing about frantically to their music. In Cold Blood is a bit different from the rest of the record but it’s one of the best tracks on there – a fast paced, punk embraced, sharp as a knife, killer of a tune. The bizarre as fuck Ms. Bright ends on a weird, acoustic note but it somewhat sees out Muori quite nicely (for lack of a better word). It proves that Edward In Venice are more than capable of producing and creating different sounding tracks that don’t sound too similar – a trap a lot of hardcore punk band’s fall into.

It’s safe to say that Edward In Venice can be added to the list of things to love from Italy along with things like pizza, instead of being added to list of things to hate like the cast of Jersey Shore and playing their national team on penalties.
